Understanding tank inventory displays

Read the Dashboard inventory cards, distribution chart, and latest-reading table, then open a Location when you need tank-level detail or history. Use the labels and controls described below to complete this workflow in the current TankActive web app.

What appears on the Dashboard?

The Dashboard combines organization-wide status with the latest readings received from each automatic tank gauge (ATG). The KPI row calls out Active alarms, Tanks below 40%, Total tanks, and Sites offline. These counts are starting points: use the linked cards and tables to inspect the affected Location before deciding what action is needed.

Inventory distribution groups reporting tanks into fill-percentage bands from 100–80% through 20–0%. Select a bar to open the matching inventory list. Needs attention highlights tanks with low inventory or a stale reading and links each item back to its Location.

How do I choose the reading I need?

Latest inventory can show Live · Single, Live · Manifold, or Daily opening data. Live · Single presents individual tank readings. Live · Manifold presents the current manifold view where the connected equipment supplies it. Daily opening uses the opening inventory record rather than the newest poll. The selected source changes the table and its export, so confirm the source label before sharing a value.

  • Location Name and Tank # identify the monitored equipment.
  • Product identifies the configured tank product.
  • ATG Time is the timestamp supplied with the reading.
  • Gross Vol. (Gals), Percentage Full, and 90% Ullage (Gals) describe the reported inventory.

How do I inspect one tank?

  1. 1Select an Inventory distribution bar or a row in Latest inventory.
  2. 2Use the range buttons, product filters, or sortable columns to narrow a distribution result.
  3. 3Open the Location to review its tank cards. A card can show Normal, an Alarm label, or Not reporting, together with percentage, gallons, and ullage when readings are available.
  4. 4Use Reports & history on the Location for Daily inventory, Delivery history, Alarm history, Sensor status, leak-test records, or CSLD tests.

How current is the display?

Tank inventory and status typically refresh every 5–15 minutes, depending on the ATG configuration. The Dashboard header shows the age of its update, and a Location shows ATG online or ATG offline plus its ATG time and last-polled information. Select Refresh when you need the newest data TankActive has received.

A recent page refresh does not create a new ATG reading. If the timestamp is old, the Location is offline, or a tank says Not reporting, treat the last value as historical and investigate connectivity or the device before relying on it as current inventory. PDF and CSV actions export the selected view; they do not force a poll.
