Per-location offline thresholds
Configure how long a Location may stop reporting before TankActive marks it offline, with an organization default and documented Location overrides. Use the labels and controls described below to complete this workflow in the current TankActive web app.

What does an offline threshold mean?
An offline threshold is the allowed reporting gap for a Location. TankActive compares the time since the last good automatic tank gauge (ATG) reading with that Location's effective threshold. A Location is shown as offline when it has been silent longer than the effective value, or when TankActive has never received a good reading for it.
This status describes the data connection visible to TankActive. It does not by itself prove that the ATG has lost power or that the facility network is down. Use the last good reading, the Location's ATG time and last-polled details, and local device or network checks to determine the cause.
How do I set the organization default?
Choose a duration that fits the organization's ATG polling configuration and response policy. This article does not recommend a universal number. A value that is too short can flag expected reporting gaps, while a value that is too long can delay visibility of a real interruption.
- 1Open Network Operations, select Thresholds, and choose Location offline.
- 2In Org default offline, enter the approved duration in whole minutes.
- 3Select Save default.
- 4Review rows whose Source is Default to confirm they inherit the saved value.
How do I set an override for one Location?
An override changes only the selected Location. It is useful when a documented polling interval or connection pattern differs from the organization standard. The screen validates the allowed minute range; it does not accept an arbitrary text duration.
- 1Search for the Location or use Offline now to narrow the table.
- 2Choose the Location's edit action, enter the approved duration in whole minutes, and select Save.
- 3Confirm that Source shows Override and that Threshold (min) shows the intended value.
- 4To inherit the organization value again, edit the row and select Reset. Cancel exits without saving.
How do I review and respond to offline results?
The Location offline table shows Location, Last good reading, Threshold (min), Source, status, and Actions. Export CSV or Export PDF preserves the current filtered view. The Dashboard and Location detail also surface reporting status, but they do not replace the threshold configuration screen.
Offline notification routing is separate from the threshold itself. Authorized administrators can review Connectivity issues under Network Operations Notifications, while individual users control Alarm email preferences in Settings. If you can view but cannot change a threshold, the page is honoring your account scope; ask a permitted administrator or contact TankActive support.
