Monitoring & alerts
Setting up alert notifications
Enable the email notification preferences available to your account, and use Network Operations when authorized staff need event-specific email routing. Use the labels and controls described below to complete this workflow in the current TankActive web app.

Which notification preferences can I control?
Open the account menu, select Settings, and then open Notifications. Under Email notifications, Alarm notifications sends messages when an Alarm triggers at one of your Locations, and Report summaries covers scheduled compliance and inventory reports. The page shows the email address that will receive these messages.
Push notifications for alarms are managed per device in the TankActive mobile app, not on this screen. TankActive does not expose an SMS destination or a browser notification channel, so do not assume those channels are configured because email notifications are on.
How do I turn a preference on or off?
- 1Open Settings, then select Notifications.
- 2Choose the toggle for Alarm notifications or Report summaries.
- 3Wait for the preference to save. Each toggle saves immediately; there is no separate Save button on this page.
- 4If TankActive says the preference could not be saved, the change is undone. Correct the connection or account issue and try again.
What conditions can trigger routed notifications?
Network Operations routing currently groups High-level alarms, Probe out, Connectivity issues, and Low tank inventory. The events available to a particular organization depend on the connected automatic tank gauge (ATG), the data TankActive receives, and the organization's configured monitoring. Enabling a preference does not make an unsupported device event available.
Inventory and offline thresholds are configured separately under Network Operations. Changing a personal notification toggle does not change those thresholds, acknowledge an Alarm, or modify another user's delivery settings.
How do administrators route event emails?
Authorized Network Operations users can open Notifications to manage organization routing. Routing rules currently group High-level alarms, Probe out, Connectivity issues, and Low tank inventory. Each rule can be Enabled and can independently send Immediate email and Recovery email. Use Manage recipients to choose recipients, then select Save changes.
Location overrides can specialize routing for a particular Location, while Summary schedules and Delivery log help administrators review scheduled summaries and recent email delivery. These controls appear only to accounts with the required Network Operations and notification-management permissions. If they are unavailable, ask an authorized administrator or contact TankActive support rather than recreating the route in a personal preference.
