Account & billing

Adding or removing locations

Add a billable Location or archive an existing one while preserving its record and reviewing the monitoring and billing effect. Use the labels and controls described below to complete this workflow in the current TankActive web app.

How do I open Location management?

Open Admin and select Manage locations. The Location management page separates Total locations, Active, Archived, and With alarms. Use All, Active, or Archived, Search locations, and the sort control to find the record you need.

Viewing and editing details requires Location access. Adding, archiving, or unarchiving a billable Location requires both Location management and subscription management access. When those permissions are missing, Add location and the archive controls are disabled.

How do I add a Location?

If a billing-sync message remains after creation, resolve it before adding another Location. Repeating the creation flow can create confusion because the Location record may already exist even though its billing update still needs attention.

  1. 1Select Add location.
  2. 2Choose Add by Serial Number (OMNTEC Proteus ONLY), Mini-Me / TankActive Gateway, or ATG Hostname & Port according to the confirmed connection method.
  3. 3Complete the guided connection and Location-registration fields.
  4. 4Review the subscription or billing confirmation shown by TankActive, then finish any required Stripe step.
  5. 5Return to Location management and confirm that the Location appears as Active.

How do I archive a Location instead of deleting it?

TankActive removes a Location from active monitoring by archiving it; Location management does not offer a permanent-delete action. In table view, use the archive icon in the Actions column. In Cards view, select Archive. Read the Archive location? confirmation before continuing.

Archiving stops ATG data collection for that Location and pauses its Alarms. When automatic pricing details are available, the confirmation states the expected monthly change. Archiving the final active Location may not reduce the total because the base subscription minimum can still apply. If pricing cannot be calculated, TankActive says the billing effect will be verified after archiving.

How do I restore an archived Location?

Unarchiving resumes ATG data collection and monitoring. The monthly total may increase; when there are no other active Locations, the base subscription minimum may already cover the restored Location. After either action, verify the Active and Archived counts and confirm the Location's status before making another billable change.

  1. 1Select the Archived filter.
  2. 2Find the Location and select Unarchive.
  3. 3Review the Unarchive location? message, including the displayed billing effect.
  4. 4Select Unarchive and wait for Location management to refresh.
